Law for the Practice of Medicine in Venezuela

General Provisions: Article 1. The medical practice is governed by the provisions of this Act and its Regulations. Article 2. For the purposes of this Act, means the practice of medicine provision by medical professionals, services aimed at the preservation, promotion, health restoration and rehabilitation physical or psycho-social development of individuals and the community , prevention diagnosis and treatment of diseases, identification of the causes of death, the expertise and advice and forensic research and human clinical teaching. Article 3. Professionals legally authorized to practice of medicine are doctors in Medical Sciences Surgeons and Physicians. Actions related to health care, which by its nature, does not have necessarily to be made by doctors should monitor them and determine the Rules of this Act other university professionals of health sciences, legally qualified and approved by the competent bodies for that conduct their activities in accordance with the standards contained in their respective professional practice laws.
